Divine Mercy Mission (2019)

It has been suggested by the members working in North Eastern states to have a separate dependent Mission of St. Thomas Province erected for this area to facilitate the administrative and pastoral needs of the area. In the year 2019 it was proposed in the Family Gathering and the Provincial Council held on February 21, 2019 decided to erect this Mission. Hence with the consent of the Superior General, the Provincial Superior of St. Thomas Province of the Vincentian Congregation erected Divine Mercy Mission on 28th April 2019 and subsequently, having completed the formalities on 15th August 2019 Mission Superior was appointed. The following are the present houses under Divine Mercy Mission.

1. Bongaigaon: Vincentian Ashram, P.O. Gurufela Bazar B.O., KokrajharDist (BTAD), Assam – 783 360, India.

This center was established in 2017. It is in the diocese of Bongaigaon, Assam. Here we have a Retreat center called ‘Divine Love Retreat Center’. At present two Priests are engaged in conducting Residential and one day Retreat Programs besides the regular night vigils on every Month.

2. Margherita: Vincentian House, Divine Renewal Retreat Centre, Margherita P.O., Tinzukia Dt., Assam, 786 181, India

This center is in the diocese of Dibrugarh, Assam established in the year 2009. Here we have Divine Renewal Retreat Center with various spiritual and pastoral activities in accordance with our Charism of Preaching the Word of God.

3. Rangapara: Vincentian Ashram, Upper Kacharigaone, Rangapara P.O., Sonitpur – 784 505, Assam, India.

We started this Ashram in 2017 in the Diocese of Tezpur, Assam. In the year 2018 a retreat center named Divine Mercy Retreat center was established. This center is taking care of the spiritual needs of thousands of people by retreat preaching, conducting prayer services and night vigils.

4. Senapati Divine Glory Prayer Tower, Vincentian Ashram, MaramKhunou, Senapati, Manipur—795 106

This Ashram is in the Archdiocese of Imphal. Here the construction of a Vincentian Ashram and a Prayer with the name ‘Diving Glory Prayer Tower’ is progressing. The construction work was started in 2019.

5. Tissa: Vincentian House, Tissa, Longding Dt., 792 131, Arunachal Pradesh, India

We started this Ashram in 2007 in the Diocese of Miao, Arunachal Pradesh. This ashram is now used as a parish church at it has 8 substations. We are running a De Paul School and De Paul Boarding which was started in 2008. We also began a retreat center in the year 2010, Divine Light Retreat Center. In 2011 we began a Divine Dispensary which is managed by the FCC Sisters.
